THE 5 PART GOALDRIVER PROCESS

By Keith Abraham

I want to share with you a tool I’m really excited about. I created a process called the GoalDriver Formula. There is nine parts to it, and in the video above I explain the first five parts to get you started.

What have I’ve learnt about goal setting? You need to have an emotional, mental and physical connection. This process covers all three, because when you have all three covered, you become compelled, committed and connected to your goal. You have to build a relationship with your goal.

Question 1: You have to identify what is your primary driver. There are eight key drivers—successful, purposeful, inspired, happy, respected, relaxed, confident and organised. In the next 12 months, how do you want to feel? You have to have an emotional connection, so how do you want to feel?

Question 2: What’s the number one goal you want to achieve in the next 12 months? If you could only achieve one goal in your personal or professional life, what would that one goal be?

Question 3: When do you want to achieve it by? You have to have a day, a date, a month and a year written down. You have to have absolute focus on what it is that you want to achieve and by when.

Question 4: You have to know the five reasons why. If you can’t commit to yourself five reasons why this goal is so important for you to do the uncomfortable, the inconvenient and sometimes the unknown to get there, then you won’t be committed to it.

Question 5: The final piece is around your development. What I’ve learnt along the way is that you have to change and evolve to achieve a goal. There’s a lovely quote from a guy called Marshall Goldsmith. He said,

WHAT GOT US HERE, WON’T GET US THERE.

Which means you have to change and do things differently.

So, here’s the final two-part questions for you.

What are two things you need to stop doing & what are two things you need to start doing, so you can move towards what you want & away from what you don’t want?

Download this worksheet, take the time to do it. This is an absolute fabulous tool, and I say that not because I’m the owner of it, but because I’ve seen the results that it’s had with people in workshops and conferences all around the world!
