THE 3 WAYS TO LET GO OF YOUR EXPECTATIONS

THE 3 WAYS TO LET GO OF YOUR EXPECTATIONS

Too often we focus our attention on actually achieving the goal, the end result, only to become frustrated at the little amount of progress we might have made. Think about the last time you went on a diet. You were focused, diligent and committed, you ate right, exercised right and you had the right discipline, only to weigh yourself at the end of the week to feel like there was still so much more to do. So you saddle up again for another perfect week and the same result. You lose weight, but never as much as you had hoped and then you become susceptible to doubt and value of what you were doing.

A goal can bring the best out of you and it can be destructive. When people become obsessed with a goal to the point of needing it to happen so badly the goal actually eludes them. If you worry about achieving the goal too much you subconsciously send a message that you actually don’t have the confidence that it will come true. If you are confident it will come true. Believe you are deserving of the goal and know that you are capable for achieving it, then all you need to do is take the appropriate action and let the universe manifest the right result for you.

A GOAL CAN BRING THE BEST OUT OF YOU AND IT CAN BE DESTRUCTIVE.

The key to achieving your goals comes down to having a focus on your goal, what I would call having it top of mind but not worrying about achieving your goal, or giving it too much attention. Once you have set your goal and it’s aligned to your driving values, let go of it. Let go of your expectation of whether it will come true. To be able to do that there are three focuses you need to have and they are all aligned to FEEL – THINK – DO or your emotional, mental and physical connection.

The 3 ways to let go of your expectations

Emotional … Releasing Yourself

Is about releasing yourself emotionally from the goal itself. When you have an attitude that you actually don’t need that goal to come true for you to have a great life, so that you are happy or fulfilled, then the worry of whether it will come true vanishes from you, leaving you to take that energy and channel it into taking action.

Mental … Living with Certainty

A fun thing happens when you start living with more certainty—doubt is diminished, clarity forms, confidence grows and consistency is part of normal personal traits. How do you act when you have certainty in your life? Now if you had absolutely certainty, how would you act and feel? How would you respond if a challenge arises?

Physical … Taking Action

The only natural thing to do, now that you are mentally and emotional connected, is to take action! Remember activity cures inactivity. Nothing replaces action, not positive thinking or great confidence. By taking action you validate the mindset you have created and it only further strengthens and justifies the belief you have in yourself.
