LOOK INTO YOUR MIRROR

LOOK INTO YOUR MIRROR

I have always been a great believer in the concept that if something is not right then what can I do to fix it or improve it or move on from it. I love this story of Steve Jobs, when his iconic 2005 commencement address at Stanford, Jobs said, “For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?’ And whenever the answer has been ‘No’ for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.”

It is not about changing everything or quitting your job. It is just about shifting your mindset, looking for one element to change or taking a different approach. A small change can make all the difference in creating greater momentum towards what you want and away from what you don’t want. You are the only person that can make that choice and take the first step, no one else can do it for you.

YOU CAN EITHER TALK YOURSELF INTO CHANGE OR OUT OF IT.

It is not about changing everything or quitting your job. It is just about shifting your mindset, looking for one element to change or taking a different approach. A small change can make all the difference in creating greater momentum towards what you want and away from what you don’t want. You are the only person that can make that choice and take the first step. You can either talk yourself into change or out of it.

What I have learnt over the years is that with small changes, you can fall back in love with your life, your career or the people who mean the world to you. It just takes a decision, then take the first step and you don’t have to know all the steps, just the next one.

What change or adjustment could you make this week?
