LET GO OF THE DISAPPOINTMENT

When you set goals, you will be disappointed, it comes with the territory.

Sometimes it’s the disappointment of missing a goal, or sometimes the disappointment of the goal not being achieved exactly as you imagined and how it would make you feel. It could even be that you were disappointed there were challenges put in front of you as you were trying to achieve it.

Understand this, it is all part of the process. Not everything is going to go to plan or the way you think it should.

All too often I see people holding on to the disappointment of a missed goal, including myself. Note to self … build a bridge and get over it!

I heard a great quote from Seth Godin recently …

THE PROBLEM WITH HOLDING A GRUDGE IS THAT YOUR HANDS ARE THEN TOO FULL TO HOLD ONTO ANYTHING ELSE.

It is the same with disappointment. When you are too focused on what could have been, you have no attention to focus on what you really want. Let go of disappointment, forgive yourself and move on to what you really want, desire and need.
